3 Important Questions To Ask Your Denver Painting Contractor

Are you searching for a Professional, Neat, Clean, Affordable Denver Painting Contractor?

In this economy it's extremely easy to get ripped off by a "slick talking" Denver Painting Contractor with a good story! Although most Painters in the
Denver area are good - you must pay close attention to who you hire and make sure you know going in what to expect and what your exposure is.

Below is a guide you can use to ask your Denver Painting Contractor - (These questions will ensure that you are dealing with a Professional
and your chances of getting ripped off will be greatly reduced!

Question #1 - "What type of Insurance Do You Carry?" This is important - most Painting Companies around Denver and Boulder do not want to pay for Insurance. Some only carry "Liability Insurance" - which protects your home everything in it, if a Painter spills paint on an expensive couch or appliance. For example - One of my painters spilled paint on a $1200 couch. Instead of involving Insurance I simply wrote a check to cover it - but my insurance would have covered it). This Type of Insurance is Important but not as Important as WORKMAN'S COMP INSURANCE - I would say a great majority of Boulder and Denver Painting Companies do NOT carry Workman's Comp Insurance - This is important to you because if a Painter is injured while on your property then YOU are liable...and could end up in a painfully expensive litigation process....

How To Avoid This - Ask to see current copies of ALL Insurance - Workman's comp - Liability...etc!! If you don't ask they probably won't show!

Question #2 - "How much can my price change between estimate and completion of my Painting Job?" - This is important! You have to be careful for Denver Painting Companies that give you a very low estimate so that they "win" your job with the lowest bid. Then half way through the job after you have already paid your deposit or maybe the FULL payment - you are pretty much forced to pay more money - Again - with this economy there are desperate people trying to take short cuts.

How to Avoid This: Ask for a detailed price breakdown in writing and ask WHAT can change? Typically the price can change if you add more areas to be painted and that is expected. However - if a Denver Painting Contractor adjusts your bill up, because they did a poor job with the estimate - you should NOT have to pay! (This is why Five Star Does Not Charge Any Money Until After The Job Is Done And You Are 100% HAPPY).

Question #3 - "When will my home be complete?" This one is tricky - You see a lot of Painting companies around Boulder and Denver have multiple projects going or they have
Painters that only work once and a while. This can cause a HUGE delay and can drag a 2 week project on for MONTHS...Nobody likes strangers coming in and out of their house, especially if your project is an Interior Painting project!

How to avoid this: Get a firm date on your Completion date - Ask the question: " Do you have dedicated Painters, or do they jump from job to job?" This way you will put the Denver Painting Company on the hook...

Do Not Even Think About Hiring A Denver Painting Contractor Until You Read This!

Are youlooking for a professional Denver Painting Contractor to
paint the interior or exterior of your home?

Before you select ANYBODY -- Read this entire message!
It contains critical information that could save you cash - time - stress
and even a painful drawn out law suit when hiring a Denver Painting Contractor!

Now that being said -- Let me begin with a painful story...This story is about a
guyI know by the name of "Jimmy". (I can't tell you his last name).

Jimmy was searching for a Denver Painting Contractor to paint his home in
Parker Co. Just like you are doing right now -- he checked on
craigslist - google- and even the Yellow Pages.

Jimmy was taught by his father to always get 3 price bids when hiring
a Contractor of any type -- so that's what he did.

Jimmy arranged 3 meetings for Denver Painting Contractors to
come to his home and give him an estimate on his exterior paint job.

The first Denver Painter arrives - It was an older man that looked
to be in his mid 50's and he was driving a beat up old truck. He reeked
like cigarette smoke -- and wore old coveralls with the blue and grey stripes,
they were covered with paint. He looked like he had not shaved in a week and didn't bother to comb his greasy hair for the meeting!

Jimmy could not help but to notice that the man was short a few teeth in the the front of his mouth, but that didn't keep him from smiling!

The man left his bid behind, and told Jimmy to give him a call when he
was done with all of the estimates. Jimmy was not sure, because the
painter did not carry ANY insurance! And told Jimmy he wouldn't do any
work without at least a 50% deposit to pay for materials and some labor for his Painters!

The second Denver Painting Contractor showed up about an hour later --
Jimmy was surprised - This Denver Painting Contractor was overly aggressive
and used high pressure tactics to try and force Jimmy to buy right
NOW! This man was from a very large Denver Painting Contractor.
He didn't listen to anything Jimmy said -- rather he TOLD Jimmy
what he needed to do..and told Jimmy all about himself and his company
-- he pushed Jimmy really hard -- and would not take "no" for an answer!
He made Jimmy feel really stupid for not hiring him right there on the spot!
Jimmy asked him to leave and not return!

The third Denver Painting Contractor Showed up -- and guess
what...It was a Five Star Painting Contractor. Jimmy was
relieved because The Five Star Painting Contractor spent time
and listened to Jimmy, then spent more time to explain in detail
the whole process -- and why each step is so important!

The Five Star Rep was dressed nice and neat and presented proof
of workman's comp insurance and Jimmy did not even have to ask for it.
Jimmy almost fainted when the Five Star estimate was a
little bit lower than the high pressure Estimator and just a
hair higher than the man with the beat up truck! Jimmy
could not believe that by going with Five Star he would receive:

<> Professional Painters - That arrive on schedule and respect
your house and keep everything neat and clean!

<> An Iron Clad Painting Bid - A Five Star bid does not
chance unless you add more areas to be painted - What you are
quoted is THE Price!

<> FREE Color Consultation - ($157 Value) performed by a
professional Color Consultant to make sure your new paint
job flows and projects an amazing look!

<> Expert Painting Prep - This step is to ensure the paint
bonds to your homes surface correctly and evenly to make
your paint job look it's best and lasts the longest!

<> Premium Grade Paint Only - Your home and your Bank
Account will appreciate this -- premium grade paint will
helpthem both! Because Premium Grade Paint Is engineered
to last, and this helps to make sure you do not have to paint
again in a short period of time!

<> A Denver Painting Contractor that is fully Insured with
Liability and Workman's Comp Insurance -- This is so you can
sleep easy at night knowing you will not get sued over a un-insured
injury by a painter in your home.
But what Jimmy couldn't Believe is:

"HE DID NOT HAVE TO COMMIT ANY CASH UNTIL AFTER THE JOB IS DONE!!"

That is right you're reading that correctly -- Unlike the other 2
Denver Painting Contractors that demanded 1/2 of the money NOW --
Five Star ONLY takes payment...AFTER...the job is done and you are
100% happy with your painting job!

So, before you hire A Denver Painting Contractor - Give Five Star A

Denver Painting Estimates - Why Are They Different?

As Spring is upon us - and Denver Area Home owners are
looking for a Professional Denver Painting Contractor's to bid on
their Exterior or Interior Painting Projects.

You do your due diligence and talk to 3 different Denver Painting
Contractors.

You find that 3 different estimates from 3 different Denver Painting
contractors are much different in price.

One is pretty high - But has a really good estimator who you like.

One is reasonable - Seems to be a good company

The third is much lower - And a very "like able" and you get along
with this Denver Painting Contractor the best! Even though he
is driving a beat up old Ford Truck, He seems trustworthy!

Oh -then to your astonishment -- the lowest guy offers to beat ANY
price by 20%...

Wow -- Now you are really impressed -- you can get your Denver home
Painted...Cheap!!

Now - how do you decide? What is it that makes your project so
different in price?

To your surprise -- although you liked the last Denver Painting
Contractor - and he seemed very safe -- you should be aware of
some very important points:

1. What type of Prep Work Is being done?

The prep work is an important step and could be the difference
in whether your Paint Job lasts the test of time - without
proper "prep work" your paint may not take to your surface
and cause major problems.

2. What type of Paint is going to be used?

Your Denver Painting contractor may be cutting corners by
buying the "cheapest" paint like "Contractor Grade" Paint.
Paint that is watered down and not meant to last very long.
Contractor Grade Paint and Colorado weather do not go
well together!

3. Is your Denver Painting Contractor Insured with Workman's Comp?

Not a big deal right? Wrong! If your Denver Painting Contractor
gets injured while painting your home, and they do not carry
workman's comp insurance - you COULD be liable and
have a hefty hospital bill in your hands!

It is understandable that "price" is a big concern -- but when
comparing Denver Painting Estimates - make sure you are comparing
"apples to apples" and understand that by choosing the "cheapest"
Denver Painting Company -- You could be "costing" yourself more
in the long run by your paint job having to be done again.

And in the short run if a painter is injured -- that could cost a lot of undue
stress and money!

Could Your Denver Painting Contractor Get You Sued?

Are you looking for a Professional Denver Painting Company to paint your home?

While times are "tight" with our economy, you want to make sure that every dollar counts! You choose to seek out the "cheapest" contractor that you can find!

On the surface everything looks great! They have a LOT of years of experience, give you a great sales pitch and even a really low bid! But wait a minute...there is something missing -INSURANCE?

As you voice your concern your new Denver Painting
Contractor tells you that he/she has been painting in Denver for over 20 years, and nothing has happened and nothing will happen, because they are "extremely careful."

You decide to take their word for it, and hire them anyways!

The next thing you know - One of the Painters falls off a ladder while trying to paint your ceiling....breaking his leg, a rib and fracturing his wrist!

Now - The Painting Contractor does not know what to do...This has never happened, and He does not carry Workman's comp Insurance!

So guess who get's stuck with the bill....YOU!!!

Along with an incomplete paint job -now you also have an injured Painter in your home and a pending law suit to cover - Hospital Bills, Lost work...etc...etc...

Your best solution is to choose a Company that you can trust! Like Five Star Painting!

Is Your Denver Painting Company Going To Rip You Off?

Denver CO - I hate to be the one to bring this up - But when the economy turns - The reports on Contractor related scams seem to rise. It's really sad to hear that unsuspecting homeowners hand over their hard earned cash, trusting a Denver Painting Company to provide a quality paint job that lasts for years and years!

Unfortunately - most companies are very quick to lure you in with a "free estimate". And what does that mean anyway? Are Denver Painting Companies that arrogant that... they actually believe you should pay for a Denver Painting Contractor to come out and tell you how much he or she is going to charge you??

Let's be serious - Free estimate means - An invitation to come out and give you a sales presentation.

Now - To help you from being victimized by Greedy Denver Painting Companies.

A Few Tips To Avoid Being Ripped Off By Your Denver Painting Contractor

First and Foremost - Always...Ask questions - find out how long they have been painting in the Denver area, if you are uncertain, ask to see references and or endorsements.

Next - really quiz them about how many active jobs are being done right now - jobs that could delay the completion of your job. Most Denver Painting Companies will not come out and tell you that they are overloaded with work and will have to pull painters off your job to finish another one.

Find out what type of paint they use and if you have a choice in selecting the paint! Remember - that a Professional Denver Painting company that does any type of volume will get a "contractor discount" on quality paint.

Ask to see the samples on your wall - not just on paper. You may even want to take a day to see how that color looks in different lighting. Doing this has changed the mind of several homeowners in the Denver area because the color looked much, much different in different shades of sunlight.

Not all Denver Painting Contractors are out to rip you off - but you don't want to be that person that pays money for a job and you get left empty handed.

One more point is that the Denver Painting Contractors that are licensed - Insured and carry workman's comp have a lot more to lose than the "guy-and-a-truck" operation.

Make sure to see you Denver Painting Companies Proof of Insurance before hiring them.
